This is not a book I would have normally picked up (I normally stick to YA fantasy), but I am so glad I did! It's amazing where the pages of a book can take you. In this case, right into the curious lives of the residents of President Park Trailer community-their actions carefully chronicled by the local gossip columnist and busy-body, Shirley Snodgrass, because as she says, "Inquiring minds want to know!"

Kristie Leigh Maguire immediately draws us into the life of the main character, Beth Ann Dixon, a hairdresser married to her childhood love, Billy Ray. One is immediately enthralled by Beth Ann's desire to become an author and we follow her unorthodox but spell binding journey into this dream. Miss Maquire has a wonderful way of fleshing out her characters, each one interesting in their own right. This was an engaging and often humorous story with some really quirky characters. I was sad when it was over and am hoping that I will encounter Beth Ann, Mary Jo, Troy, Billy Ray and Shirley Snodgrass in future publications by this entertaining author.

Smashwords Interview with Kristie Leigh Maguire

Interview with Kristie Leigh Maguire

What motivated you to become an indie author?
I'm a child of the sixties. I like doing things my way.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
The first story I ever wrote was my novel, Desert Heat. Prior to this, I had never really thought about writing a book. I just loved to read. In 1997, I was living in Japan and had a very difficult time finding books to read that were written in English. This was before the e-book revolution. In desperation, I began writing just so I would have something to read. I discovered that I liked writing almost as well as I liked reading.
What is your writing process?
Am I supposed to have a writing process? :) In any case, I don't. I write as the mood strikes me.
Describe your desk
What desk? I got rid of my desk. I have a very comfortable recliner and my laptop. Works for me. :)

No Lady and Her Tramp - Romantic Satire

One Amazon reviewer of No Lady and Her Tramp stated, "If you like a book filled with sex (Linda Lovelace would have a 'hard' time keeping up), revenge, espionage (trailer park style), gossip (move over Barbara Eden-Harper Valley), feuding neighbors (yeah, Hatfields and McCoys), I guarantee, you will not be disappointed."

Top Ten - Preditors & Editors Poll
A quirky hysterically hilarious read that is down and dirty!

No Lady and Her Tramp will have you rolling in the aisles as you follow the exploits of the residents of President Park, the trailer park to top all trailer parks. When Beth Ann Dixon buys herself a computer and decides to write a steamy erotic novel, her husband, Billy Ray, can't do much of anything right, not even shoot a gun. Janet Higgins is the resident Peeping Tom - and Troy Finkmyer is the guy we all love to hate. Everybody gets into the act and there are showdowns all over Grapevine - Grapevine, Kentucky that is. Shirley Snodgrass is the local gossip columnist for the Grapevine Gazette and records it all in her column, 'I Heard It Through the Grapevine'.

These two authors, Kristie Leigh Maguire and Mark Haeuser, by putting their talents together, have written a very funny book laced with pure, unadulterated steam.

OMG, It is a GREAT book. I want more. I didn't want the book to end. I really like the the main couple and the things they go through.
It has people that you want to club in the head, ones you want to be best friends with, ones you want to hug and say that it is going to be okay and ones you want to hate but they are all your neighbors.
The sex is hot ......
The laughs are many .....
The OMGosh's are many and funny too.

Everyone has to read this.
It is a super fast read because you can't put it down.

A great gift for your mother on this Mother's Day

Normally I write spicy romances but I wrote this sweet romance for my mother. Grab it for your mother on this Mothers Day. CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD OR GIFT.

.

A devilishly handsome Wyoming cowboy. The sweet girl next door who's always loved him. A red-headed vixen with a sultry beauty she uses like a weapon. Can this cowboy redeem himself after the ultimate betrayal?

Jane Porter tries to come to terms with the blow Mike Farley delivered to her heart. But when the beautiful redhead runs away from her hasty marriage to Mike, Jane has a second chance at her dream of becoming Mike's wife.

Amazon Review from Sandy Wolters:
Second Chances: Love Lost, Love Found by Kristie Leigh Maguire is a contemporary western romance, but the writing has the feel of the classic old-time romance novels. I found myself smiling as I read this book, because it made me think of how much my mother would have enjoyed it. We would have each read it and discussed it for days. I find that days after reading this book, I'm still thinking about it. You just can't go wrong with a book that you can't stop thinking about after reading it. I truly wish mom were still around to discuss it with.

Another First of the Month brings ...

Amazon's dreaded brown bar. That's right. The thing all Kindle Direct Publishing authors hate to see. That time when sales from the last month roll over and sales for new month have yet to appear. Indie Authors everywhere are waiting with bated breath for that first sale of the month to show up.

What's that sound I hear? Is it the wind blowing or is it a sigh of relief from some dear Indie Author out there who made a sale and got rid of that ugly brown bar?

I'm still waiting. Anxious but hopeful. Oh, the life of an Indie Author. It isn't for the faint of heart.

CBS SUNDAY MORNING to Report on Boom in Erotic Romance Novels

Correspondent Bill Geist goes under the covers for a report on the boom in steamy erotic romance novels, where e-readers are helping drive sales, for the "The Money Issue" of CBS SUNDAY MORNING WITH Charles Osgood to be broadcast March 24, 2013 (9:00 AM, ET) on the CBS Television Network.

Geist travels to Texas to speak with Desiree Holt, a 76-year-old grandmother, who is a prolific author of what's been dubbed "Mommy Porn," one of the fastest-growing segments of the publishing industry. Holt has written 142 novels since 2007 and credits the evolution of the electronic reader with boosting sales.

"You can read anything on it and nobody knows what you're reading," Holt tells Geist. "You could be reading one of my books. You could be reading Shakespeare."

I can totally relate to this article since I write erotic romance too. I'm so sorry I missed seeing this on Sunday Morning today.

Love goes heartbreakingly wrong for this Wyoming cowgirl when her “almost fiancĂ©” dumps her to marry a little redheaded gal he met by chance just a few short weeks ago at the Wild Horse Saloon in Casper, Wyoming. Jane Porter’s world spins out of control as she tries to come to terms with the blow that Mike Farley has delivered to her heart by taking another woman as “Mrs. Mike Farley” when Jane has dreamed of that title belonging to her ever since she was a young teenager. When the beautiful Samantha Jo runs away from her hasty marriage to Mike, Jane has a second chance at her dream of becoming Mike’s wife. Does she dare give her love a second chance?
Find out in Kristie Leigh Maguire’s Second Chances: Love Lost, Love Found. Set in rural Wyoming, Second Chances is a sweet contemporary western romance that will warm your heart.
