Second Chances: Love Lost, Love Found
by Kristie Leigh Maguire
(sweet western romance)
Love goes heartbreakingly wrong for this Wyoming cowgirl when her "almost fiancé" dumps her to marry a little redheaded gal he met by chance just a few short weeks ago at the Wild Horse Saloon in Casper, Wyoming. Jane Porter's world spins out of control as she tries to come to terms with the blow that Mike Farley has delivered to her heart by taking another woman as "Mrs. Mike Farley" when Jane has dreamed of that title belonging to her ever since she was a young teenager. When the beautiful Samantha Jo runs away from her hasty marriage to Mike, Jane has a second chance at her dream of becoming Mike's wife. Does she dare give her love a second chance?

Find out in Kristie Leigh Maguire's Second Chances: Love Lost, Love Found. Set in rural Wyoming, Second Chances is a sweet contemporary western romance that will warm your heart.

One reader stated, "I read it through in an evening, and felt as if I had spent that evening with 'salt of the earth' folk." Another reader said, "I loved the double, no triple, second chance. It was a very sweet ending."

The author, Kristie Leigh Maguire, got the inspiration for Second Chances: Love Lost, Love Found from an ad in the classified section of a newspaper and her imagination took over from there. The ad read: "Free wedding dress. Worn only once by mistake."

Emails from the Edge defies today's world of political correctness where every word is carefully censored so as not to offend anyone. Kristie Leigh Maguire is open, honest, and sometimes over-the-top funny in her email correspondence with her friend back in the States with whom she shares her thoughts and feelings while living overseas as an expatriate wife during the decade of the 90s. Emails from the Edge, gives the reader the feeling of being a voyeur, pulling back the curtain of friendship, and finding out they are not just talking about milk and cookies.

USA Today Bestselling Author Rebecca Forster had this to say, "A bold, honest look at how two cultures collide and lessons learned. Some may think KLM politically incorrect; I say she is courageous to share her honest feelings and inner thoughts. It is really gutsy and fascinating."

Back Cover Blurb:
Saipan is a tropical island with clear blue waters, sandy beaches, tropical flowers, swaying palm trees, gentle breezes and warm and friendly Micronesian South Pacific natives - plus the added bonus of being a U.S. territory with American goods in the stores and with American money as the local currency. What more could a girl ask for?

All of the Japanese people on the tour were oooohing and ahhhhing over all the duty free shops and souvenirs. I was in the local version of Wal-Mart, oooohing and ahhhhing over shampoo and conditioner, body lotion, Pepto Bismol, Tylenol and Motrin - and generally running wild through the aisles like a crazy woman!

I got up before dawn each day and sat out on my balcony by myself while my husband slept. As I watched the sun come up, peace flooded my soul. That old church song, "Precious
Memories", kept playing itself in my mind like Daddy used to sing it in church. I sat out there and watched the colors tint the clouds and the ocean waters while the refrain of "Precious memories, unseen angels, how they ever flood my soul, in the stillness of the midnight, precious memories scenes unfold" played over and over in my head.

I was reborn. I found myself again. I knew that I was on the edge but I had not realized how close I had come to losing myself till that moment.

Affairs of the Heart (Book Two)
Kristie Leigh Maguire presents the ultimate in ultra-sensual modern day romance. She takes you "beyond the kiss" without crossing that tenuous line between eroticism and vulgarity. Her characters are real everyday, ordinary people, not impossibly created heroes and heroines who could only be real in the pages of your average romance novel.

The beautiful and sexy Marcie Treyhorne is a steel magnolia who knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go after it. Marcie's story began in DESERT HEAT. Her saga continues in CABIN FEVER. Marcie leaves the blistering heat of the desert but the searing passion she carries to the northern Nevada mountains will melt the deepest of winter snows. The ending is a twist that will hit you like a runaway train. You won't want to miss this one.

Reader Nina Osier stated, "Once again the Treyhornes' bedroom action fairly scorches the pages, but this time we readers are in for more than a tale of unconventional romance. As we pass through a turning point in Marcie's life with her, the questions she asks herself seem eerily familiar. Enjoyable resolution to what really does turn out to be the second half of a two-part tale.

Kristie Leigh Maguire has combined two of her award winning titles under one cover in Affairs of the Heart: Desert Heat and Cabin Fever. Cabin Fever placed in the Top Ten in the Preditors and Editors Poll.

From the blistering sands of California’s Mojave Desert to the glittering neon lights of Las Vegas, Marcie Treyhorne sweeps you away into a world of sex and passion in Desert Heat. Marcie’s adventures continue in the mountains of northern Nevada in Cabin Fever. Enter Marcie's world...if you dare!

Marcie's story is that of a happily married woman who fights the attraction between herself and her new boss. Can one woman truly love two men at the same time? Can one woman enjoy physical and emotional bonds with two men? Maguire gives us the answers.

Secondary plot twists add to the suspense as Marcie's life becomes more and more entangled with her two loves, Steve and Jim. Her climatic decision comes down to physical desires and emotional well-being played against spiritual considerations and the stability of a long-standing marriage. Her decision may surprise you.

Kristie Leigh Maguire pushes the boundaries between romance and erotica, giving her readers heart-pounding sensual sensations within a dynamic plot.

by Kristie Leigh Maguire and Mark Haeuser
(adult romantic comedy)
One Amazon reviewer of No Lady and Her Tramp stated, "If you like a book filled with sex (Linda Lovelace would have a "hard' time keeping up), revenge, espionage (trailer park style), gossip (move over Barbera Eden-Harper Valley), feuding neighbors (yeah, Hatfields and McCoys), I guarantee, you will not be disappointed."

Top Ten - Preditors & Editors Poll
A quirky hysterically hilarious read that is down and dirty!

No Lady and Her Tramp will have you rolling in the aisles as you follow the exploits of the residents of President Park, the trailer park to top all trailer parks. When Beth Ann Dixon buys herself a computer and decides to write a steamy erotic novel, her husband, Billy Ray, can't do much of anything right, not even shoot a gun. Janet Higgins is the resident Peeping Tom - and Troy Finkmyer is the guy we all love to hate. Everybody gets into the act and there are showdowns all over Grapevine - Grapevine, Kentucky that is. Shirley Snodgrass is the local gossip columnist for the Grapevine Gazette and records it all in her column, 'I Heard It Through the Grapevine'.

These two authors, Kristie Leigh Maguire and Mark Haeuser, by putting their talents together, have written a very funny book laced with pure, unadulterated steam.

Kristie Leigh Maguire
The Affaire de Coeur Magazine named Kristie Leigh Maguire Best Up and Coming Author of the Year and her novel Desert Heat as Romance of the Year in their 2004 Reader/Writer Poll. Her novels Cabin Fever and No Lady and Her Tramp placed in the Top Ten in the Preditor & Editor's Poll (2005).

Kristie Leigh Maguire and her husband have lived all over the United States and many foreign countries while following his career. While living in Japan, she found it very difficult to find books to read that were written in English. This situation was intolerable as she was an avid reader and had been known to resort to reading cereal boxes if nothing else was available. Have you ever tried to read a cereal box written in Japanese? It was not a pretty picture. Ms. Maguire began writing her own books just to have something to read. She discovered a new passion in writing.

Although Kristie Leigh Maguire is originally from the South and will always remain Southern at heart, she and her husband now divide their time between southern Nevada and the US Virgin Islands. During her expatriate years she lived in St. Croix, Aruba, Thailand, Japan and three times in Saudi Arabia and visited many other countries.

FREE recipe book - Passionate Cooks

Recipes from today's hottest romance authors! And it's FREE!

 Passionate Cooks

Published by All Romance eBooks.

Food and love have had a long association, for Passionate Cooks: Free Recipes From Today’s Hottest Romance Authors, over 150 authors of the genre have put their pens and computers aside to don aprons, get down and dirty in the kitchen, and share their love of food.

Much like romance novels themselves, the dishes range from spicy to sweet. There is something for every taste and every level of culinary expertise. The cookbook includes New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Mari Carr’s “Wild Irish” Cream of Crab Soup recipe. Western GBLT author BA Tortuga contributes a dish as spicy and colorful as the straight-shooting author herself with Ranch Hands—a blend of Tabasco, salsa, onions and cumin, added to pinto beans, eggs, Canadian bacon and cheddar cheese and served in a tortilla. And for those of you who are feeling extra creative and sexy, there’s the Avocado Dip that doubles as body paint from mystery writer Marcia James.

Some recipes are simple, such as Down Home Mac & Cheese, while some are more exotic, such as Spicy Shrimp Risotto. There are even some gluten-free selections, like the Sweet and Spicy Gluten-Free Lo Mein-ish Noodles from erotica author Sommer Marsden. And a few are perfectly timed for a Halloween, such as Tracey H. Kitt’s Gamberi del Diavolo or Shrimp of the Devil.

Best of all, they are FREE!

My recipe, Mama's Southern Chicken and Dressing is included in this book. Mama made this every Christmas for years but as a true Southern cook, she used a pinch of this and a dab of that. I translated her "pinches and dabs" to measurements so YOU can make her recipe too.

BigAl's Books and Pals: Author Interview: Kristie Leigh Maguire

BigAl's Books and Pals: Author Interview: Kristie Leigh Maguire

In these interviews I’ll often ask if an author always knew they wanted to be a writer. It’s one of those questions that are cliché, but often have good answers. But from your bio I suspect the answer to this would be no. Instead, why don’t you tell us, what prompted you to become a writer?

I’ve always been an avid reader but had never seriously considered becoming a writer although the thought crossed my mind occasionally. However, that changed when I was living in Japan and couldn’t find books to read that were written in English. This may sound strange now but remember it was 1997 before the e-book craze took off with the advent of good e-readers like the Kindle, the Nook, and the Ipad. It may sound stupid but I decided that if I wanted a book to read, I’d have to write one myself. Thus my career as a writer was born. I’m just an avid reader turned writer and author.

This IS HAPPENING RIGHT HERE IN OUR OWN COUNTRY!

We Must Stop This Immediately!

This IS HAPPENING RIGHT HERE IN OUR OWN COUNTRY! We Must Stop This Immediately!

Have you noticed that stairs are getting steeper. Groceries are heavier. And, everything is farther away. Yesterday I walked to the corner and I was dumbfounded to discover how long   our street had become!
And, you know, people are less considerate now, especially the young ones. They speak in whispers all the time! If you ask them to speak up they just keep repeating themselves, endlessly mouthing the same silent message until they're red in the face! What do they think I am a lip reader?

I also think they are much younger than I was at the same age. On the other hand, people my own age are so much older than I am. I ran into an old friend the other day and she has aged so much that she didn't even recognize me.
I got to thinking about the poor dear while I was combing my hair this morning, and in doing so, I glanced at my own reflection. Well, REALLY NOW - even mirrors are not made the way they used to be!
Another thing, everyone drives so fast these days! You're risking life and limb if you happen to pull onto the motorway in front of them. All I can say is, their brakes must wear out awfully fast, the way I see them screech and swerve in my rear view mirror.
Clothing manufacturers are less civilized these days. Why else would they suddenly start labeling a size 10 or 12 dress as 18 or 20? Do they think no one notices? The people who make bathroom scales are pulling the same prank. Do they think I actually 'believe' the number I see on that dial? HA! I would never let myself weigh that much! Just who do these people think they're fooling?
I'd like to call up someone in authority to report what's going on -- but the telephone company is in on the conspiracy too: they've printed the phone books in such small type that no one could ever find a number in there!

All I can do is pass along this warning:
WE ARE UNDER ATTACK!

Unless something drastic happens, pretty soon everyone will have to suffer these awful indignities.

PLEASE PASS THIS ON TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW AS SOON AS POSSIBLE SO WE CAN GET THIS CONSPIRACY STOPPED!

PS: I am sending this to you in a larger font size, because something has happened to my computer's fonts - they are smaller than they used to be.

Looking good, Jimmy Thomas!

As if being one handsome and sexy dude isn't enough, look what internationally famous romance novel cover model Jimmy Thomas has done now! He has created a brand new website, Romance Novel Center, to help out all of us in  the romance novel industry.

As Jimmy says at the site:
RomanceNovelCenter.com is a networking resource center specifically for the romance novel community. A place where authors, editors, cover artists, reviewers, web designers, publishers and romance novel events, conventions, workshops, etc. can advertise their business, profession, abilities, work and artwork. Social networking websites, and your own personal websites, are not going to get you noticed/found by your target audience, but only to those you ask to view those pages. RomanceNovelCenter.com (RNC) not only attracts those needing/wanting your services, but also those needing stock images, and those wanting to purchase romance novels.

In RNC's navigation bar is a link to RNC's stock image website RomanceNovelCovers.com, as well as RNC's romance novel online store RomanceNovelStore.com. So heavy traffic for all three websites are all seeing the same networking website, RomanceNovelCenter.com. Having a profile on RNC not only increases your exposure to the entire romance novel community, but also to fans, readers, subscribers and those aspiring to get involved in the romance novel industry.
I am proud to say that I took Jimmy up on his invitation to join in on this new site. Look me up. Here is my PAGE at the brand new Romance Novel Center.

And here is the brand new cover for my western romance novel, Second Chances: Love Lost, Love Found. Of course Jimmy is on the cover!

...Most of the characters in this book were really flawed, and I have to tell you that half way through the read I couldn't imagine how this would work out. But this is one skilled author and this was a really satisfying book. I can't wait to read more books by this talented author. - Luscious
...The story was captivating and the characters so engaging, I wanted to know what happened to them. This, combined with the Wyoming setting made for a very enjoyable read. Bitter-sweet love story

From Amazon Reviewer (L. Mihay) - 4 stars

Mike & Jane have grown up, together, on neighboring ranches, kissed & declared their love for one another at 13 & 12. It's always been assumed that they would marry, but suddenly Mike goes off the deep end, marrying a total stranger he met 2 weeks before. Is Jane upset. You BET!!!! This is a story of love rocked to the core by betrayal. Do the characters react like you think they should? Not a chance...BUT they react like real people (some, at least) do.

In the background is Jane's widower Father, and Mike's widowed Mother, who finally admit that they don't think of each other as Brother & Sister any more. Second chances do happen, and watching this undercurrent develop is endearing.

This is a clean book, of heartbreak, love and second chances.

Move over Peyton Place!

What can I say? I lived in a trailer park for about three years and the comings and going of the many individuals weren't quite as spicy as the characters Kristie and Mark developed, but they were close. I could see the old football hero Billy Ray Nixon and his buddies hanging out at the Amtrack catching a brew each evening after work an discussing events of no substance. Reminded me of "Married with Children." Al and Peg Bundy make a comeback.

Billy Ray's wife Beth Anne decides it is time to get out of her everyday life and buys a PC. She is bound and determined to right a best seller so she can get out of her rut of cutting hair and being the main contributor (not by choice) to the Grapevine Gazette. The writer for the Gazette has a true axe to grind with Beth Anne and takes every opportunity to embarrass her at every turn. Well, Beth Anne is taking it no more and enters the world of cyberspace. Billy Ray thinks its an old Star Trek re-run.

What she doesn't realize is she is starting journey that will not only shake-up the entire town of Grapevine, Ky and the coming and goings of most of the residents, her research and writing is really going to spice up her marriage in ways neither of them even imagined in high school. They just thought they were having fun.

WARNING! This book is not PG rated. It is hot and steamy with more sex (at times) then the law allows. Not only to Billy Ray and Beth Anne re-ignite passion in their relationship, after Billy Ray sneaks a chapter out of the trailer (Beth Anne warned him to stay away from HER computer) and reads some excerpts to his buddies down at the Amtrack ( on a dare), Beth Anne's writings have a profound effect on them and their wives.

If you like a book filled with sex (Linda Lovelace would have a "hard' time keeping up), revenge, espionage (trailer park style), gossip (move over Barbera Eden-Harper Valley), feuding neighbors (yeah, Hatfields and McCoys), I guarantee, you will not be disappointed.

Think that sums it. Need to take a cold shower now.

Second Chances: Love Lost, Love Found gets a new look!

I am happy to announce that my novel Second Chances: Love Lost, Love Found has a brand new cover. The handsome model on the cover is the internationally famous romance novel cover model Jimmy Thomas! I don't know about you but I sure would give him a SECOND CHANCE!

Book Blurb:
Jane Porter's world is turned upside down when her 'almost fiancé' Mike Farley goes off the deep end and marries the beautiful and fiery Samantha Jo Smith, a girl he met just a few short weeks earlier at the Wild Horse Saloon in Casper, Wyoming. Jane goes into a deep depression but in her heart-of-hearts she can't deny that she still loves Mike.
Samantha soon realizes that her hasty marriage to Mike was a mistake. She can't forget her dreams of becoming a country and western superstar. Mike can't forget about Jane.

Through it all, Mike's mother Liz and Jane's father Jim come closer together as they struggle with the mess their children have made of their lives and the day-to-day struggle of running their neighboring ranches.

What will Samantha do? What will happen to Mike? Will Jane have a second chance at love? Will Jim and Liz realize it is never too late for love?

Why do we need romance novels? Authors have answers

By Joyce Lamb, USA TODAY

Happy Valentine's Day! Today is all about love, love, love. And not just for people, but also for romance novels. (Isn't that why we're here, after all?)

We asked authors and readers some questions about the importance of romance novels in our lives and, boy, did they respond! Every hour on the hour today (continuing at 10 a.m. ET until 6 p.m.), I'm going to post what they shared — and you can share your feelings, too, in the comments. Warm fuzzies for everyone! You might also want to check out the story I wrote in today's Your Life section of USA TODAY about why we love romance novels. You can find it here, too. And, stay tuned to HEA for our announcement later today of the winners of the #HEA140 tweet contest.

HEA asked romance authors: Why do we need romance novels? Authors' responses are listed with the title of their most recent or upcoming release.

Cindy Gerard, Last Man Standing
"Shortly after 9/11, I asked myself this same question. What was I contributing? How could what I did possibly be relevant in the face of a nation in mourning. A nation in crisis. For some time, I couldn't bring myself to write. It seemed so trivial. But then a dear author friend of mine pointed out what should have been obvious. Now more than ever, the world needs validation that good wins over evil. That there can be happily ever afters. That love heals and love gives strength. So I started writing again ... about strong men and women overcoming the worst life could throw at them. And I know now that I'm providing not only entertainment, but a service, if you will.

Love an Author, Leave a Review

Authors love readers who love their books. We're not sure readers understand the importance of their opinions on our books. Letting other readers know about the great books you've read and enjoyed is the best advertisement an author can get!

Here are a few readers we love and snippets of the reviews they've left for our novels.

Product Description

Set in rural Wyoming, Second Chances is a contemporary western romance with the feel of a classic old-time romance novel as it follows the lives of Jane Porter and Mike Farley, two young people who live on adjoining ranchers and have been in love with each other since they were kids. Can the scoundrel Mike redeem himself with sweet Jane after committing the ultimate betrayal to their love?
The blossoming romance between their parents, Liz Farley and Jim Porter, gives an added dimension to the overall storyline and proves it is never too late for love.
